DuckDice is not a full-blown bitcoin casino, but it’s an interesting gambling site worth your time if you are fond of dice games. It is a licensed online gambling operation that accepts different kinds of cryptocurrency, from bitcoins to bitcoin cash, ethereum, litecoin, monero, dash, ripple, and many more. Relatively new, this online casino claims to have already processed more than 1.8 million bets and has a few hundred players regularly frequenting the site.
Despite being cryptocurrency-centered, DuckDice does not afford anonymity to players. It reserves the right to verify the identity of players and asserts its compliance to anti-money laundering laws. Nevertheless, it has a few things that make it enticing. It is a mobile-friendly gambling site with a relatively low house edge. It has limited games but you can expect a number of tournaments, contests, and several bonuses and promotions. It even has a bitcoin faucet, which means you can always have something to use if you run out of coins to wager. You need to be patient, though, as you wait coins to drop from the faucet.
Getting a DuckDice account is notably fast and easy. The site and gaming interface are intuitive. However, you need to be familiar in how to use cryptocurrencies since fiat currencies and the “Cashier” found in typical online casinos are absent here. The games are very simple but can be addicting for some, especially if you stumble upon a winning streak.
The first thing you will see as you access the DuckDice website is the registration form. Here, you just have to enter a username to start playing. There’s no need to enter a password or other details required in most online casinos. Your account is instantly created and you are automatically logged in after you click on the Start Winning (sign up) button.
However, you will have to set a password for your account later on. If you fail to put a password for your account, you will no longer be able to access it once you are logged out. A reminder will be displayed for you to set a password if you try to log out of your account, but you might miss this if you simply close your web browser.
For a quicker way to get an account (no more need to set a password later on), you may sign up through your social media account (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Telegram, and VK). Just click on the social media buttons on the account signup interface and follow the instructions.
By default, the currency set for your account is bitcoin (BTC). You my change this to litecoin (LTC), ethereum (ETH), doge (DOGE), or bitcoin cash (BCH) later on. These are the cryptocurrencies for displaying your account balance, but you can use other cryptocurrencies as detailed in the Currencies section below below.
It shouldn’t be difficult to find your way around the DuckDice interface. There’s the usual navigation bar on the top portion. To go to your account or profile page, click on your account name on the upper right corner of the site to show/hide a menu that presents the following: My Info (account/profile page), My 24h Bets (bets history), My Finances (transaction history), Bank (deposit/withdrawal), Currency Exchange (a place for converting your cryptocurrency to other cryptocurrencies), Security (password and account access control), Settings, and Randomize (provably fair testing).
Most of the aforementioned sections of the DuckDice website are presented as modal windows (windows within your browser window). As such, you can only open these sections or windows one at a time (you can’t open them in tabs).
The first section you will most likely open is the Settings since the password setting tab is in here. It is also in this section where you will enter your email address, configure your account privacy, and activate a Self-Ban, which is referred to as self-exclusion in other gambling sites.
Under the Security section, you can enable two-factor authentication or set up a security email.
DuckDice uses a dark theme (appearance of the website). You can change this to a light or morning theme by clicking on the button to the immediate right of your account name or to the left of the chat button.
There are two games on DuckDice: dice and lottery. The dice game is what is shown on the homepage. To go to the lottery game, click on the Lottery link on the navigation bar on the top part of the site.
The dice game is a simple game wherein you just have to enter the bet amount, choose the game type (Low or High) you prefer, set your win chance, and click on the Roll button. After hitting the Roll button, a random number (from a 0 to 9,999 range) will appear. If you choose a Low game type, the resulting random number should be less than the number to the right of the four eggs on the game for you to win. If you choose a High game, the random number generated should be higher than the number to the right of the eggs for you to win.
The Lottery game, on the other hand, can only be played at around 15:00 UTC. You have to buy tickets to participate in this game. This is a multiplayer game with just one bankroll. The prize is 20%, 30%, or 50% of the bankroll shared by all winners. You win 20% if you get 3 matching numbers, 30% if you get 4, or 50% if you have 5 matching numbers. If there are two winners with 5 matching numbers, the two will divide the 50% of the bankroll. The bankroll, by the way, is equivalent to 85% of the total lottery ticket sales amount.
DuckDice cannot be considered a free bitcoin casino since it does not allow you to enjoy the games without making a deposit and betting with real cryptocurrency. No play money or trial mode is provided.
Game Software, Fairness, and House Edge
DuckDice uses a proprietary game software. This software is created to be provably fair. You can verify that the results of the games are free from any form of manipulation by using the server seed, client seed, and a bet verifier. There’s a “Fair” button on the top right corner of the game interface. Click on it to perform a game fairness test. To learn more about provably fair testing, go to the Fairness page of DuckDice (the link is on the footer part).
When it comes to the house edge, DuckDice says it is only at 1%. This is comparable to that of the many other dice gambling sites we have reviewed before.
Is DuckDice Mobile-Friendly?
DuckDice has a mobile-friendly website. You can enjoy playing its games on your smartphone or tablet as it automatically adjusts its layout and interface to be more suitable for mobile access and navigation. With its responsive web design, you don’t have to click on the toggle to switch to a mobile mode or to go to a separate mobile version of the site.
DuckDice Currencies and Deposit/Withdrawal Methods
This gambling site, as mentioned, accepts cryptocurrencies. In particular, it accepts the following: bitcoin (BTC), litecoin (LTC), ethereum (ETH), bitcoin cash (BCH), dash (DASH), monero (XRM), ripple (XRP), ethereum classic (ETC), stellar lumens (XLM), bitcoin gold (BTG), and zcash (ZEC).
The deposit and withdrawal methods are on a wallet-to-wallet basis. To place a deposit, you have to do a fund transfer from your cryptocurrency wallet to the address indicated on the game. The address is generated and displayed once you click on the Deposit button. You will have to wait for a number of confirmations before the amount is reflected in your account balance (1 for BTC, BCH and XRP, 2 for DASH and ZEC, 3 for LTC and BTG, 5 for DOGE, and 10 for ETH). However, it is possible to have an instant deposit (instant crediting of your deposit) if you have at least two paw icons under your username and after you pay a transaction fee. You also need to have your wallet hosted on the GreenAddress.
For withdrawals, you just have to click on the Withdraw button and enter the amount you want to move. The withdrawal request is typically processed in a few minutes, but it may take up to 48 hours due to security checks. You can track the progress of your withdrawal request in the My Transactions page. There are fees for the withdrawals, but these are for the use of the blockchain not for a third party handling the transaction.
The fees can be slow, standard, or fast. Obviously, you have to pay more if you want a faster transaction. Most of the cryptocurrencies supported by DuckDice have slow, standard, and fast options. The only exceptions are LTC and XLM. If you use these cryptocurrencies, you only have a standard transaction, so you cannot expedite the withdrawal process. The fee amount is automatically deducted from the amount withdrawn.
DuckDice Bonuses and Promotions
DuckDice has a number of bonuses and promo offerings, which can be summed up as follows:
- New Year Bonus – Available on the 31st of December and 1st of January, this bonus provides 0.0001 BTC to a player who deposits a minimum of 0.000001 BTC.
- Christmas Celebration – This is offered from December 24-25 and January 6-7. To obtain this bonus, you have to make at least one deposit and click on the bonus icon that appears on the screen on the mentioned dates. The amount of bonus you can get depends on your player level.
- DuckDice Birthday Bonus – To get this bonus, you have to find a decorated egg and click on it. Doing so will instantly add the bonus to your game balance.
- Lucky Bet Bonus – A periodic bonus that allows players to earn extra coins, this raffle-like bonus chooses recipients based on the bet numbers placed by players. The bonus can be split to multiple recipients if the selected winning number is shared by two or more players.
- Duck Hunt – This random bonus can be obtained by clicking on the flying duck that appears on the game screen. For mobile players, the duck only appears when the chat function is open.
- Rain – Get free coins through this bonus if you are an active chat member. The Rain bonus uses an algorithm that randomly selects chat members as recipients of the free coins. You don’t have to be the most active chat member (having the most messages). What’s important is that you are active in the chat room.
- Duck Hunt Interactive Game – A duck flies over the game screen every few hours. If you manage to shoot it (with a click), you get free coins.
- Tips – These are bonuses that may be granted by other players in the form of coins. Other players may send you a tip for helping them or for simply being nice to them.
- Bitcoin Faucet – DuckDice has a bitcoin faucet that provides free bitcoins after you solve a CAPTCHA and roll the dice.
DuckDice does not have a VIP program. It has player levels, but there are no specific special promotions for those considered as VIPs. This gambling site, however, has an affiliate program.
Does DuckDice Accept US Players?
The answer is no. Unfortunately, DuckDice lists the United States as one of the blacklisted territories along with France, the Dutch Caribbean Islands, and the Netherlands. Curacao is also considered a restricted territory, even though this gambling site is said to be registered there.
Signing up for an account from any of the restricted or blacklisted territories will result in the termination of the account and the forfeiture of the balance therein, if there is any.
Policy on Anonymity and Security
If you are thinking of playing at DuckDice because of the anonymity that comes with the use of bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies, unfortunately, you will be disappointed. This cryptocurrency gambling site has a Know Your Customer (KYC) policy that necessitates the verification of the identity and location of players. The site also maintains strict compliance to anti-money laundering laws.
Submitting false or misleading information during account registration and identity verification is considered a violation of the DuckDice Terms and Conditions, which could mean the suspension or termination of an account.
